Description
For degenerative diseases
Therapeutic indications:
Shark cartilage contains a substance that inhibits the development of blood vessels that feed tumour tissues, thus preventing their growth.
It was also discovered that if angiogenesis – the multiplication of blood vessels – could be inhibited, the development of tumours and metastases could be prevented.
Connecting these two important discoveries, that of the properties of shark cartilage and angiogenesis, many other studies have shown that shark cartilage contains a specific macro-protein that inhibits the development of angiogenesis, and what makes this cartilage so special is that this macro-protein appears in a concentration a thousand times higher than that of any other cartilage.
Angiogenesis is responsible for tumour dissemination. If this is inhibited, dissemination can be prevented.
Shark cartilage also acts on inflammatory and painful processes associated with arthritis (patients with arthritis have a substance in their synovial fluid responsible for angiogenesis) and on psoriasis (a desquamative skin disease in which angiogenesis is accentuated).
