Description
CELL PROTECTION, ANTIOXIDANT AND IMMUNITY
Vitamin C and Zinc contribute to the protection of cells against undesirable oxidation and to the normal functioning of the immune system.
CARTILAGE
Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal functioning of cartilage.
ANTICARCINOGENIC ACTION
Curcumin has shown the ability to inhibit carcinogenesis at 3 stages: initiation, promotion, and tumor progression. It also has the ability to suppress the activity of several mutagens and carcinogens.
GASTROINTESTINAL PROTECTION
Constituents of turmeric inhibit intestinal spasms, as well as increase the secretion of gastrin, secretin, and pancreatic enzymes.
HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTION
The hepatoprotective effect of turmeric comes essentially from its antioxidant properties and its ability to reduce the formation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. One of the curcumin salts also has the ability to exert choleretic effects, increasing the excretion of bile salts, cholesterol, and bilirubin.
CARDIOVASCULAR PROTECTION
The positive effects of turmeric on Cardiovascular Health include lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels, decreasing susceptibility to lipid peroxidation of LDL, and inhibiting platelet aggregation.
IMPROVED IMMUNITY
Curcumin improves localized immunity by increasing the number of B cells and T helper cells, as well as general immunity.
ANTIOXIDANT ACTION
Turmeric and curcumin show potent antioxidant activity, comparable to vitamin C and E. Studies have demonstrated the effect of turmeric on endothelial heme oxygenase-1, a protein known as a stress inducer. It has the ability to neutralize free radicals and increase glutathione levels.
ANTIMICROBIAL ACTION
Turmeric extracts reveal the inhibition of the growth of a number of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and viruses.
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTION
Its anti-inflammatory properties are attributed to its regulatory capacity at the level of inflammatory transcription factors, cytokines, redox status, protein kinases, and enzymes, all of which promote inflammation. It has been shown to reduce the expression of inflammatory markers, such as NF-κB, COX-2, 5-LOX, macrophage inflammatory protein-1, adhesion molecules, and C-reactive protein.
INDICATIONS FOR GOOD USE
